AAPPS-DPP Chair and 2021 IOC Chair
| AAPPS-DPP 2021, the 5th Conference of the Division of Plasma Physics of
the Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies, will be held on September
26 – October 1, 2021. AAPPS-DPP brings together plasma scientists, engineers,
and students from around the globe to share ideas and exchange information
on the cutting edge of plasma science and technology.
AAPPS-DPP 2021 is hosted by Kyushu University. The COVID-19 has changed
the life and work of human beings. One of the biggest impacts is the scientific
conferences, which make most of the conferences be held on line, such as
AAPPS-DPP 2020. Nonetheless, the conference was very successful although
everything is organized for the first time. AAPPS-DPP 2021 will be onsite/online
hybrid conference if the COVID-19 situation is settled down to allow domestic
and some international flights. If the pandemic problem become worse, the
remote on-line e-conference using Zoom systems will be used, similar as
AAPPS-DPP 2020. The experiences from precious conference will give us great
confidence that the conference in 2021 will continue to be a vibrant environment
for the exchange of ideas.
It is our sincere hope that all
participants will actively share the latest developments and pending issues in the
field of plasma physics. We look forward to your participation and scientific
contribution to make AAPPS-DPP 2021 a great success!

AAPPS-DPP Representative Director and CEO
Division of Plasma Physics under AAPPS (AAPPS-DPP) is established in 2014
and started its annual conference from 2017 (1st Chengdu, 450 participants),
2018 (2nd Kanazawa, 682 participants), 2019 (3rd Hefei, 392 participants),
2020 (4th, e-conference, 930 participants). Operation of annual conference
is always challenging due to difference in regulations among different
countries and COVID-19 but provide exciting opportunities for our society.
Feedbacks from our members are quite helpful to improve and increases productivity
of our annual conferences including exchange of informations, recognizing
outstanding works by DPP awards, invitation to our official journal,
RMPP. We will do out best efforts in coming months to provide you a productive
conference world wide.

WELCOME
It is our pleasure to invite you to AAPPS-DPP2021, the 5th Asia Pacific Conference on Plasma Physics, which will be held at Centennial Hall Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan from 26. September to 1, October, 2021.
Although the impact of COVID-19 is still unclear, we are preparing for
"onsite/online hybrid conference" as the first priority. The
second priority is fully online conference. In both cases, we will offer
options for virtual presentations. We welcome your onsite or on-line participation.
We hope that the situation will improve soon, and are looking forward to
seeing you all. DPP2021 will be a good opportunity to exchange our latest
knowledge and to open new avenues to scientific success in our fields.
